Namastache Yoga Jams, Vol. 10 (Burningman Edition)

This year marked my 8th consecutive year going to Burningman. On Saturday morning of the man burn, I was granted the opportunity to share the “Daniel Scott Yoga Experience” at Walter Yoga, home of the infamous 70,000 watt Kalliope mobile sound system.

It was freaking awesome. I got to tick a few things off of my Burn bucket list:

A) Teach a yoga class on an art car
B) Blast a playlist full of music I’ve always wanted to hear on a thunderous sound system
C) Fully experience how bass can open up tight hips

For your aural consideration, please enjoy the following Spotify yoga jams playlist…

This playlist is a fun one. It starts off reflective and thoughtful, giving you time to settle in to your present body experience and observe what you’re working with. Those first four tracks should offer plenty of time to blow the dust off of your muscle and bone.

By the time the first few bars of “Go it Alone” by Beck pipe in, begin shifting gears towards finding a constant rhythm in breath and pace. This lays a great foundation for the tremendous grooving of Romare, Valentin Slip, and Sylvan Esso to deeply move you.

The rest of the list thumps and pumps you up until Trifonic begins to slow things down. Be sure to get into some sort of deep hip opener for James Blake’s “Limit to your Love” and crank the volume up (provided you can handle the mystery bass).

Enjoy the next few songs to smooth things out before releasing into a savasana as “When My Time Comes” by Dawes ties it all together. It’s an unorthodox finale, but heck– variety is the spice of life, innit?!
