Do This, Feel Better. You can drink a delicious smoothie for breakfast. It’s good for you.
Ingredients are as follows. Amounts are relative to how much you want to consume. Some people want more than others. Variety, I’m told, is the spice of like. Feel free to spice this delicious smoothie up however you desire!
Frozen Bananas — I used 2.
Frozen Strawberries — I added 6
Dino Kale — For me, half a bunch was sufficient. Other greens are totally awesome. Experiment!
Coconut Milk — Enough to ensure smooth flow without being to watery.
Almond Yogurt — Perhaps unnecessary. Wholly delicious. Try a scoop and see for yourself.
1 scoop Rice Protein powder — Maybe you prefer other types of protein. This is what I had available.
1 tsp spirulina powder — As far as I’m concerned, it’s hard to overdose on green.
1 tbsp psyllium husks — Gotta keep that digestive system running clean!
I’ve been known to add chia, cacao nibs, various nuts and/or seeds from time to time.
PRO-TIPS:
Use organic ingredients. Big surprise, right? Ob-V.
Freeze your own fruit the night before. Not surprisingly, this makes your smoothie cold. I like that.
PEEL YOUR BANANAS BEFORE FREEZING THEM. There is a reason that is in all caps. Trust me.
Add the powders after you’ve blended the other ingredients. This prevents clumps from forming.
Incrementally add liquid until desired smoothieness is achieved. Pace yourself!
Om nom nom nom. Let’s hear what you think!

May 13, 2013 at 9:21 amI eat shakes every day! Cacao nibs are great. But protein powder is kind of expensive. Do you significant benefits from it?

April 16, 2014 at 10:46 pmthe powders are honestly not that bad in price…the initial purchase of them may be, but if you google all three powders mentioned. you can find them for 14-20 for each one…and yes, that does seem like alot, but how much you get out of them…i bet you spend the same amount if not more purchasing as you go….

April 21, 2014 at 10:56 pmHave you ever seen anyone take a picture of a powder that was so good you wanted to eat it? I have yet to. Powders, while easy and nutritional comparable, lack the healthful dimension of organic material. I get to fall in love with each banana, gently caress my kale, and fondle my nuts. I’ve tried sniffing powders in the past, and have decided that the consequences are no longer as desirable as they once were.
