AcroYoga Training Video: The Wild Rumpus

The Wild Rumpus is the first AcroYoga washing machine that Daniel Scott ever wrote, named after the raucous merriment that takes place in Maurice Sendak’s seminal children’s book ‘Where the Wild Things Are’.  It is an advanced-beginner level flow will give the flyer a wonderful opportunity to dance upon a solid base’s feet and hands.

“And now,” cried Max, “Let the Wild Rumpus start!”

Skills required:
–Free Stag Shoulder Stand
–Prasarita Twist
–Straddle Bat
–Indomitable will
–A penchant for artistic flow
–One very warm heart
–Large Capacity for Smiling (non-negotiable)

The Camero Press, however, is not for beginners. It’s not really for intermediates, and is a challenge for even the most advanced AcroYoga bases out there. This requires vast quantities of arm and core strength, as well as INCREDIBLE spotting and a lot of trust. Originally learned as the Turkish Get-Up, Daniel changed the name to honor the man who inspired him to attempt this absolutely unnecessary and extremely fun trick (Thanks, Neil!).

Daniel and Alex play together twice a month (at most) for a few hours each time. Everything is shot in one take, mistakes are left in, and a good time is had by all.

AcroYoga is not a practice of perfection, but a vehicle for the perfection of practice.

Enjoy the ride!
