2013 seems to be shaping up as one of those 3,000 miles a week type of years. I have been all over and back again since leaving the Bay Area in February, and have returned home only to prepare for stepping back out into the fray. My teaching tour of Asia was an absolute blast, and a successful one at that. Here are a few highlights:
Played in Japan, where this happened:
Flew to Bali. This occurred:
Got on a plane at 12:30am on Thursday, March 28th. Arrived in Seoul at 8:30am later that day. After an 8 hour layover, I departed at 6:00pm on a 12 hour plane journey that arrived in San Francisco at 11:30am the same day. Went home. Unpacked. Repacked. Got dropped off at Oakland airport for a 7:05pm flight to Ft. Lauderdale. Managed to get through security with only 3 credit cards and no photo ID. 3 hour layover in Phoenix from 8:30 to 11:30pm. Arrived in FLL at 6:05am on Friday, March 29th. 42 total hours spent in transit.
That’s just the beginning.
Took a cab from the airport to Boca Raton. Picked up my inheritance from my dearly departed grandmother, a 1997 Toyota Camry with 46,500 miles. Helped my aunt move out of the house my gramma lived in for 20 years. Drove to meet with Jess and Aaron of Jai Healing Arts in Delray Beach. Taught three days of amazing workshops to fantastic people. This happened:
And this:
After my drivers license arrived in the afternoon of Monday, April (fools) 1st, I set out on a cross-country drive to bring Gramma (my new Toyota) back to Emeryville. A short 22 hour drive later, I stopped off to teach AcroYoga in my friend Rachel’s Church in Kansas City, MO. From there, I went to go high-5 one of my best friend’s living in Denver who just had an amazing baby. Woke up early to embark upon one of the most amazing drives I’ve ever taken from Denver to Reno.
